Our First Charity Event!

What fun we had today and we raised money for a good cause. We seen new and old face, cute and funny faces. We are tired but what fun it was! Not only that but I got GREAT news today....will share more later but I was on cloud 9....all day. Here are a few shots that we took and even some sneak peeks.....We will be doing this tomorrow, Oct. 31st from 2 til 6. Well today is "the day"!

We here at Carletta Watkins Photography are just so excited to be hosting our very first charity event.  I just spoke to Rachel Hacker who is involved with Camp Leap and she is sending me some information to have at the Studio today and tomorrow. We will also have a video to share. You can visit their website at www.campleap.com  . We also have spoken to Generation Rescue. They are a research based organization. This is their website www.generationrescue.org .

Oh, we went to the Costume Shop yesterday and chose costumes for everybody.....thats right. We will ALL be dressed up for a good cause. Even Tim and his nephew have joined in the fun. Don't worry, none of the costumes are scary....all cute and fun. We also want to thank Joyce at the Costume Shop for all her help. While there, we ran into my favorite local writer....Tara Kaprowy. She was doing a feature there for Halloween. She asked me if she could take Sophie and Brody's picture....and one thing lead to another.....I told her about what we were doing and why we were there.....Pretty cool...huh.....Kinda like things just fell into place : )

  So look for us in the paper and hopefully the Sentinel Echo will come and visit use today or tomorrow too.

Gotta run and get everything done!!!!!!!!

Carlee.......hmmm.....was she named after me?

Well no....but she was named after her grandpa....who I think is one of the most amazing people that I have ever met. He was our Sunday School teacher when we lived in Manchester.

I love how I have seen this family grow.....first, Tim was her mommy's youth leader....then I photographed her mommy and daddy's engagement portraits......when I first began....then I photographed their wedding....then their first child....Brady.....and now little Carlee. This family is very special to Tim and I. It is wonderful to see this these two really great people grow into a family. To see them buy their first home and to see them become parents....great parents...might I add.

Now, when Big Brother was this age....I loved his sessions because he always brought some cute little funny face with him and Little Sister is not gonna stop this family tradition. I wanted to share some of her cute little faces!

Just wanted to share a recent session. I talked Kelly into going with me on this session and gee...I could get used to having an assistant....never had one! It was great. We had an adventure at this families home. We shot close to the barn and then hopped on the back of Dad's truck and rode thru the field to the pond. It was a gorgeous evening. Hope you enjoy them mom and dad.

back from Kentucky Professional Photographer's Association Conference

Carletta and I arrived back from conference late Monday evening....  I have still not recovered yet!!  This WEATHER....need I say more! 

We are "officially shooting" in the new Studio now, it's not 100% complete and will probably take a little while but let me tell you it's FREAKIN AWESOME!  I have so many Senior shoot's this week and next and then I'm goin to Vegas to see my Mom....  Let me just tell you that our SeNiOrS are ROCKSTAR'S!  I have a new word, "RockStar"  I totally stole that from the super fantablous Jenn Hillenga.  She was a guest speaker on Sunday and was rockin the Seniors!  She is a kick butt photographer from MN.....at lunch about 8 of us went down to TGI Friday's on Fourth Street Live in downtown Louisville. 

It was so great seeing everyone and just hangin out.  There are images floating around somewhere....I just have to round them up.....I have to say that we have the greatest Photography Friends in the world!!!   I'll post images later.......  Kristie, my bff, was kind enough to shoot a few updated shots of Carletta and I.....and let me just say that I have lost 12lbs total (*smiling really big, because my skinny pants fit now*)

*Note to all you georgous Brides!  There has been so many inquiries about weddings for next year..... I promise I haven't forgot about you....we have been Super Busy with the new Studio but I should have everything to you by next week!

Hi, to everybody. I have been out of town for a few days to our annual Fall Photography Seminar. I planned on working in the studio today on orders and just returning emails/messages but....the electric company just showed up and I have electricity sooooooooo Tim says that he needs me to be in the studio today to show him what I want him to build for the camera room ....and girls when your hubby says that you gotta run......this don't happen often that he is like....what do you want, what color do you want this wall, do you want me to build this....so I am taking that offer and going out to put in my requests.....SO................just leave me a message or email me....email is best and I or Kelly will get back to you tomorrow. Oh, Kelly is not feeling too well so she is home today...hope you feel better : )

Big Brother "W" and little "I" @ Carletta Watkins Photography / Kentucky Children Photogapher

These are two cuties. I have photographed this family for quite awhile now and they are just the sweetest ever. "W" thinks Sophie is "hot". He is gonna be such a ladies man.....well, I think he already is.....and little "I" is such a momma's boy. He is the little "flirter". He will smile and flirt, but oh to get him out of momma's arms....is TROUBLE. Here are a few from their session.

"I" is in our Baby Program. He has one more session to complete his first year. Yes, he is not 1 yet. Just gotta Mom that produces high octane milk that grows big boys....and she is so tiny.

   

Christmas Update

O.K....I think we have everybody scheduled that has emailed us about a session. If you have not been contacted please give us another email back because we have missed it. We have not stopped on the phone today, other than doing sessions. We are very excited about this Christmas. Did Kelly not do a awesome job getting all of the Christmas info posted?

And.............since I have Kelly, we are offering our Christmas Sessions to the public. (For those of you that don't know, for the last few years, I have only photographed my regular clients, just because I could not find enough hours in the day to do more and I definately wanted to make sure that my regular clients were taken care of.)

So even if this is your first time here at the studio, you can do a Christmas Session. I am excited about this because it is never my intention to exclude someone, I just could not do anymore than I was doing. Kelly has promised to get me thru it.......so we are going full steam ahead.

The Thursday Sessions ($199) will be perfect for those who really just want some cool cards to send to family and friends. You can always add to the order if you want.

We are only doing these for one day.

 

The Friday and Saturday Sessions are more of a Mini Session for Christmas. It is styled just like the "Little Sessions"....you can look at those on our website www.carlettawatkins.com
