New Blog!

HIP, HIP, Hooray!

I have been sick ever since returning from Las Vegas......evidentually everything that happens in Vegas, doesn't stay in Vegas. I so want to be well. I have so much to do.  But while I have been laying around, I started on a long overdue job.......updating my blog, splashpage and next is the website....then onto the Senior Site.

So we have a new blog. I want to apologize for neglecting it for so long. This blog has gave me nothing but trouble since about September so I purchased a new one but just now getting it done. Hopefully this new one will work much better than this old one.

Here is the link. I will keep this one up for alittle while and gradually take it off.

Trying to show some blog love :)

First I want to say Thank you to all my loyal readers. I am so sorry that I went MIA. When Christmas rolls around, and it came much quicker this year....with the new studio.....Soooooo, something had to give so I would not go INSANE.  For some unknown reason, our blog would freeze up and shut down our systems. It would not do that if Kelly posted from her home but at the Studio, it did it every time so I would type this big long post and it would not save it and I would get alittle bit angry so I finally gave up. So I am going to backtrack and give you a few updates on the Studio and just our lives.....

2008 was filled with lots of exciting new adventures and opportunities. We had the Good and the Bad but most was GOOD. I will not bore you with the beginning of last year just mid year thru now : )

The Good: I finally got that Dream Studio of mine.

2008_0531online

The Bad: stress and finishing our floors (that I thought we were gonna have to start over on) and knowing that this is a business and it is not all play....I have debt!!!!!!!!

The Good: They look GREAT and I Survived :)

Now I have to get all my samples and displays on the walls!!!!!!!

Working on them now!

The Good: We had a wonderful Halloween Event for Autism and raised $700. The whole family dressed up. We loaded up and went to the Costume Shop and purchased costumes for everybody. The theme was Shrek.....

Halloween-192online

The Bad: Lots of cleaning up, lots of cleaning up.

Why does Halloween, Fall and Christmas all come at the same time....well Photographer time?

The Good: Christmas was a huge success. We got everything delivered, cards were even early! We even had some late late cards that we got delivered.

The Bad: I have some new wrinkles and got no sleep.

The Good: I sent out cards....I received some back because I put the wrong zip or something but hey, it was Dec. 23rd and 6p.m. Hopefully people checked their mail on Christmas Eve. Tim said, nobody checks their mail on Christmas Eve......I sure hope some did. Oh, by the way, last year....I did New Year Cards and did not even send them out. Tim about flipped over that!

The Office during Christmas rush........

The Good: I was treated to some great fashions by Hayden and Harnett....go to their website www.haydenandharnett.com  . This gal is from my hometown and I am so so proud of her. We are working on something fabulous with her....stay tuned!

The Bad: Tim seen how much I spent. I have never ever spent that much on shoes but oh how I love them : ) so if you see me in some awesome fine boots.....thats them......they are grey with a zipper in the back....o.k. I digressed.

The Good: My lab came to visit the studio.....on election day. We were so excited that Mike and Kelsey came to visit us. I was very humbled that they came to see little ole me ;-) We talked about family and business....lots of good things coming there too. A friend told me that people were wondering who came to our local airport in the big Jet and who were they here to see. I felt like a celebrity. Sophie and I got on it and my oh my....that is traveling.

The Bad: Can't really think of one, it was all good!!!!!!!!!

The Good: After Christmas, we took off and went to Tennessee with the Royster family to Celebrate New Years. We were so far up in a mountain, we had no cell phone service....we had to walk to the top of the hill to get any kind of service and it was very very little....and it was just too cold for that. We ate and ate and ate and played games and just had alot of family fun. This was the view out our back window.

The Good: I met this amazing little girl named Brooklyn Durham in spring of 2008 and she touched my life like no other. She has struggled with cancer since a toddler. She was a fighter and had so much faith. She was such a inspiration and I am honored to have gotten to know her and her momma. You are my heroes. Love ya. Tonya asked me to be part of her celebration of Life and I was totally honored to do that. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/brooklyndurham

The Bad: Not that it is so bad, because she is in no more pain and she is alittle angel but Brooklyn went home to her heavenly father on Jan. 2nd, 2009. The bad is that we will not continue to be blessed with her cute little personality and her presence but she is complete now.

The Good: my friend Linda and I went to Phoenix to our National Convention. This is the second year that we have went and we have so much fun. We seen lots of friends from all over....funny, lots of them are from Michigan. I think they just like to hear us talk. Anne Geddes was the platform speaker and it was very very inspiring. So glad that I got to go and hear her.  Linda on her way to recieve her award as the ASP Banquet.

The Bad: I had never been to Phoenix and can't really tell you anymore that I could before. It was warm and I see about a 2 block area of it. It looked great from the plane.....maybe next time!

Now to sum up the whole year:

I thank God that I have been so blessed to do something that I feel so passionate about. That I get to meet families who touch my heart and become just like family. I can't imagine doing anything else. I feel that my JOB is as important as any. I see the future of what I do....the effects that it will have on families forever.

Don't even know where to start......

O.K....now I don't know where to start. It seems I have not posted in forever. I have been so busy that updating the blog was not even in the top 30 things in my life. SORRY to all those faithful readers. I have tons of images that I would like to show but....still don't have time to upload them. Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all my clients. You have made this the most successful Christmas ever. We have done a ton of cards and have had the most amazing images ever. I think my cards were better this year than any other year. Actually we are in the works of offering our cards via our lab to other photographers all over the U.S. I was honored to be asked as only a few photographers get this honor. We have had an exciting past months......that I will try to backtrack and share later. Just wanted to say that I am alive and well and almost done with Christmas. I will actually have a Christmas this year. First time in FOREVER! I also want to say thanks to Kelly......she is such a blessing in my Life. I feel like I have a new sister....I always dreamed of having a sister and I think I might just have one. Also Thanks to Leah for helping so much. You know how much I love ya...or I hope you do. To all my "peeps" that have been with me for a long time and know the struggles that I have had.....these girls have made my Life so much better. It was not that I had looked for some help just never felt I could trust someone to do it the way I would and take such great care of my clients....well these girls fit "the bill". We are churning things out in super fast speed....well for us....superfast....I will never half do any order so I it is fast for me : ) Well, I guess thats about all. I took some time to post while I was uploading an order and it is done so off to finish another. I promise I will be back before Christmas!
